Overview
The Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) is a 2 year program offered in the May semester only each year.
The program produces physiotherapists for the 21st century who are leaders in client advocacy and primary clinical care. As with all programs offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, clinical and classroom education is centered on the evidence based practice approach now preferred by the wider medical community.
Bond's DPT embraces a holistic approach, with a strong emphasis on communication skills, ethics and preventative management. Extensive clinical training ensures graduates will be able to effectively relate to and treat patients and clients on every level.
Students will complete a clinical internship as part of the program.

Entry REQUIREMENTS
1) Completion of a Bachelor of Exercise Science or Bachelor or Sports Science or equivalent, and included the following as minimum:
- Two semesters of Human Anatomy *
- One semester of Research/Statistics
- One semester of Physiology of Exercise
- One semester of Biomechanics
- One semester of Exercise Prescription
- Two semesters of Human Physiology *
* Completing Anatomy & Physiology I and Anatomy & Physiology II satisfies the requirements for 2 semesters of Anatomy and 2 semesters of Physiology.
2) A minimum GPA of 2.0.
3) Successful performance at a selection interview (done by phone).
International student intake limit
There is a quota on spaces in the DPT program for international students (set at 15%) and there are only 28 students total per year that are admitted to the program, which means only 4 international students are accepted (from hundreds of international applicants).
The reason for the international student limits is the critical shortage of physiotherapists in Australia. Clinical partners will not remain involved in the program and offer placement opportunities if there is no benefit for them in training students (ie. students that will not remain in Australia).
Application Procedures
Applications can be submitted at anytime but they will not be reviewed until November/December for the following May intake. Applications will not be received after October 31 each year.
If you have the minimum requirements, you may be invited to participate in a phone interview. If successful at this interview, you will receive a Letter of Offer within 2 weeks of your interview.
You should send all supporting documents to our USA office (even though the application directs you mail them to Bond in Australia). We can submit them electronically from here.
