Medicine (Available Australian
Citizens only)
This program is no longer available to
non-Australian students, however, if you are
an Australian citizen in the USA or Canada,
you can still apply. Please

for application instructions.
The Bond University MBBS Program is an
accredited, integrated case-based course
offering direct entry to both Year 12
school-leavers and other university
graduates.
Established by one of the world's leading
authorities in Evidence-Based Medicine, the
program is distinguished by its strong
educational focus on problem-based learning.
Rather than studying one specialist area at
a time, the curriculum challenges students
with clinical cases that combine a range of
symptoms, possible diagnoses and
disciplines. Essentially, you are put in
real-life clinical situations from day one.
The holistic learning strategy is
complemented by extensive clinical practice
and patient contact integrated with the
theoretical study elements.
Due to small class sizes, students learn in
a highly personalized environment, on
state-of-the-art equipment.
The MBBS is built around four themes:
Scientific Basis of Medicine; Clinical
Skills; Health and Society; and Personal and
Professional Development.
Graduates are qualified for registration as
a medical practitioner in any State or
Territory in Australia. You will have the
appropriate knowledge, attitudes and skills
to function effectively as interns in
Australian hospitals and will be ideally
positioned to undergo further training in
any of the Australasian specialty colleges.
Our 2009 MBBS graduates secured internships
in 25 hospitals across 4 states of
Australia.
International
Australian students (ie.
Australians educated abroad) will have to
demonstrate equivalent academic
performance to that of
Australian applicants in
examinations such as Australian
Year 12, International
Baccalaureate or A-levels. The pre-requisite
subjects of Chemistry,
Mathematics and English must be
completed.
Applicants will
be required to sit a
face-to-face interview by an
interviewing panel, and should
be prepared to come to Bond
University for this interview
(in February/March before the
start of the program in May).

School of Sustainable
Development
The School of Sustainable Development is the first designated planning and design
course in Australia to fully integrate
environmental, urban planning and
architectural disciplines with the core
practical issues of financial viability and
societal expectations.
Most current degree programs in Australia
focus heavily on engineering and
architecture disciplines without a strong
emphasis on the triple bottom line
(economic, social and environmental), thus
resulting in urban development outcomes that
are design-driven. Bond University has
created courses based on the understanding
that “sustainability is about creating value
for the long term – for security holders,
communities in which we do business,
customers and business partners. With this
ethos in mind, we are laying foundations for
the future, building quality into every
project”
Positioned within Bond’s respected Business
Faculty and drawing on cross-faculty
expertise, the School of Sustainable
Development is the only school to offer
teaching and research programs that place
environmentally sustainable planning and
design within the context of business,
societal, economic, financial, legal and
information technology applications.
In creating this innovative
multi-disciplinary approach, a totally new
curriculum has been developed from the
ground up – one that looks to the future of
sustainable development whilst embracing
established design principles, proven
environmental practices and master planning
guidelines. The courses have been designed
in partnership with industry professionals
to ensure work-place ready graduates who are
skilled in the creation of livable
communities that are environmentally,
socially and economically sustainable.

Hotel, resort & Tourism management
Go anywhere
in the hotel and tourism
industries with a qualification
from Bond University’s School of
Hotel, Resort and Tourism
Management (HRTM). The tourism
industry, including hotels and
resorts, is the second largest
industry in producing overseas
funds for Australia, with
outstanding employment
opportunities in both the local
and international marketplace.
The School’s
range of programs, both
undergraduate and graduate, have
been developed based on
international hotel and tourism
management “best practice”.
Based on a foundation of core
business subjects, students will
be challenged to develop the
conceptual, analytical,
technical, and managerial skills
that they will need to compete
in the highly competitive
international hotel and tourism
industries.
The School’s
association with Marriott
International, as our inaugural
industry partner, attests to the
quality and relevance of the
curriculum. Close ties with the
leaders of the hotel and tourism
industry will result in tangible
outcomes for Bond students both
during and after their studies.
As one of the
key tourist destinations in
Australasia, the Gold Coast is
an exceptional location for
students to study hotel, resort
and tourism management. With
over 300 hotels and resorts, and
dozens of major attractions
within the region, students will
have a working laboratory at
their fingertips.
